Scientific models inform healthcare decisions. We make those models available to everyone.

Every day, healthcare decisions determine what our healthcare system will provide for us.

But did you know that these decisions are often informed by computer models? These models are a type of scientific representation, which scientists build and use to help with complex problem-solving. The Peer Models Network (PMN) is an initiative to make these models available online, along with educational videos and other resources to help understand how they work.

The PMN is an online network of people with an interest in healthcare and the role of modelling in healthcare and policy decisions.

This includes health scientists, modellers, clinicians, policy-makers, patients, and members of public. The PMN brings together people with different types of experience and expertise to share their knowledge and enhance current approaches to building scientific models.

The PMN also provides a platform for patients and the public to view and give feedback on models that aim to inform healthcare delivery in British Columbia. The goal of the PMN is to ensure that patients and the public have a strong voice in healthcare decisions.

Access & Share Models

The PMN allows users to directly access models on the cloud and interact with them without worrying about setting up the required software environment and accessing high-performance computing power.

Network

The PMN is an online network of people with an interest in modelling for healthcare decision-making, bringing together modellers, policy-makers, journalists, patients and others to pose questions and learn from one another.

Learn

The PMN aims to build knowledge about modelling and its role in informing healthcare decisions. Here you’ll find resources on healthcare research, as well as educational videos on modelling and how individual models work.
